Bannf Area Conditions?

So, in my seemingly endless tour of the West this fall I'll be headed to Banff tomorrow.

Is there any touring to be done up there right now? I'm kinda spoiled from my breif stay in UT, but am up for anything.

up for anything? there's a bikini contest tonight and halloween is the biggest freakshow ever. beyond that there are turns to be had at the old fortress ski area and Highwood Pass east of town. The more popular backcountry areas in the National Park are closed until they recieve the 50cm minumum snowdepth which ensures the underlying fauna won't be damaged by penetrating edges.

Edit: Three of us heading out Sunday to try and get some turns at Fortress, hoping it held up. PM if interested.

I'm waiting for a conditions update from the forum at Biglines.com. Assuming the weather hasn't crapped the snow at the Fort I'm up for some weekends turns.

BTW, the snowpack was bomber at Fortress last weekend, but that may be changing with the recent weather and possible snow on Saturday.
