Word is there were ski tracks in but not out. A probe line was assembled but no one was found....

I heard it from a pretty reputable source who is buddy buddy with several veteran VSP. I'll find out the full scoop.
coupla years ago there was a slide on a rollover coming off the cattrack on riva prima trees that I triggered on a roll. The treeless area acted as the startzone. Started in deep storm snow and quickly failed to the dirt. Ran for a good 500 feet through trees (almost to the next cattrack but I rode out of it (barely).
VSP made a big deal of it but the only people that knew were people I told.....
I think unless someone gets buried I don't think they like to talk about it.
I know a lil something about inbounds slides at Vail. I'm curious to hear what you find out.
The slide was at Beaver Creek ski area. A person fell into Beaver Creek comming back from outside of Royal Elk glades and was buried up to their neck in the creek drainage. They self rescued.

maybe the machine is right and it was at the beav, but i definitively heard it was at vail. either way, ill talk to my friend today.
interesting tidbit regarding the Beav slide though, I hadn't heard about that.

A side-country skier near Beaver Creek ski area was caught and partially buried yesterday. Fortunately he came to rest with one hand and his head out of the snow. The avalanche release on a near treeline west-northwest facing slope. It was less than 100' wide, but several feet deep.
the one at the Beav was in Alta Chutes, not Royal Elk. Broke about 2 feet deep and ran to the creek, depositing the skier in said creek.
Spoke to a few folks @ vsp. Nothing.
