ALCS game three and beyond

Yes, Yankees fans, I know you will say there will only be four games...

So now that the game's been postponed, what does this do to probable starters? Obviously we'll see the same starters tomorrow we would've seen tonight, but what about game 4? Will the Yankees put Mussina in? I think he only likes to pitch on a very set schedule, but I think that would fit now. Schilling apparently looked pretty good throwing today, but I haven't heard anything official.
I assume we're looking at either Schill or Pedro for game 5?

i assume they'll still start duque as the yanks need to see if he's ready for the WS ;), and have quantrill/loaiza on standby.

That would be strange, since they had him throwing today. Looked like he was taking things at about 50% in the bullpen--sorta normal for an off day--and he was wearing high-tops (or a high-top) instead of the brace. But they didn't say anything that I know about, and irregahdless of what happens in this series, he's having surgery at the end of the season.

im assuming its the ankle that he pushes off the rubber with, so the pressure hurts him....all you need to do is tape up the ankle basketball style, and play ball...

Here's something that I said to the Oakland fans after the sox lost the first 2 in Oakland last year, "got your game 5 tickets yet? It will come down to the last game."

There is no way this series does not go to 7 games. Schilling will redeem himself in game 6 or 7 whichever is needed to beat the Yanks once and for all.

The thing that gets me is that the Yankees have won the first 2 games on 2 plays. Game 1 Wakefield giving up the HR, Game 2 Olerud's HR. Without these two plays who knows what would have happened. Everone seems to put the Red Sox out of the Series? Why? They're playing at Fenway for the next 3 games. Arroyo pitched 4 times against the yanks and doesn't have a single loss, the Red Sox have won all 4 of his starts. Kevin Brown has tanked against us, His last outing at Fenway he went 2 outs. Granted it was his first start since He roid raged the wall and broke his hand.

Okay so the Sox are playing the Yankees and they have an excellent club, the one thing that the Yanks don't have is a team with a City and more fans around the country that actually believe in this team. If the Yanks were down 2 the New Yawkers would be like, oh well at least we have the Jets at 4-0. Steinny would fire someone.

What I dont get is why is Houston still in the NLCS race and the RED SOX are out? We have a way better chance to win than Houston does. Every sports guy on TV and on the net is saying that its a Dark day in Boston and its not because of the rain. Thats their own secret way of getting the Sox pumped up, and the Sox fans all riled up so they'll go out and support the next World Champs. You know that every Sportscenter guy is rooting for the Sox. Why would anyone with a pulse root for the yankees. It would be like rooting for W.

We'll see what happens, but all you Yankee fans out there, I respect you, but The fat lady aint singing yet. :cool:

however i do feel that schilling should get out there and start a game, he HAS been a yankee killer (and every other MLB team for that matter) but you just don't say im done for the postseason because of an ankle injury..hes just too important to the sox if they want to win...granted i dont know how bad it is, but cmon, you can tape that ankle up so that you could put more pressure on it than needed to pitch...ive had it done a thousand times playing basketball...it just seems soft to me

I had heard earlier that Schilling was a definite no-go for the rest of the season, that is being a P-U-S-S-Y....not even trying to pitch??? i don't care if you have polio, you try to get back to beat the yanks..especially if you're the ace....tape that shit up, get a shot in your ankle, give it a try.........BUT he did throw pitches tonight, like dexs post said, but i didn't read/hear initially....

From the objective view of a Detroit fan, you're wrong. You saw what happened when he tried to pitch hurt, he got shelled. A busted up plant ankle cuts into his velocity big-time and w/o that 95mph heater, his splitter doesn't have the same effect.

Oh, and Sheffield swings the bat maybe 10 times during a game and maybe makes one or two really hard throws from the outfield. Shilling throws 100+ pitches at full speed. A cortizone shot can get a hitter by for the day, but there's no combination of shots and tape that can make up for a Pitcher's ankle. Throwing w/o a strong base is like throwing from a wheel chair. Let him get healthy, then come back and dominate. This is a team game after all. Somebody else is just gonna have to step up.

let me speak to the original question. those trying to call out shill have absolutley no clue about the realities of his injury and how it impacts his game. if his new shoe works and they can solve the bracing issues he had in game one he will play. it has nothing to do with his heart, it has to do with the realities of his effectivness if he can't push off., shill wants to win, if he thinkins he has nothing, why would he try and go out there, when lowe would be more effective? that would be considered selfish............ especially by you all out in the penut gallery. i'm stoked because i'm about to go to the game, and i got hooked with 1st baseline wicked mint seats for tomarrow. the order as i understand it will be bronson today, wake tomarrow and then pedro on monday. if we win today and tomarrow don't be surprised if lowe pitches game five, and save petey for the bronx. then if shill can't go for game seven it will be bronson. if pedro goes monday, then i think your looking at lowe in game six and bronson or shill in game seven.
