X-Mas ideas
Hey--looking to get something cheapish ($20-$30) for my bro-in-law for X-mas. He is a big-time trout/fly guy--mostly fishes CO--and was thinking of picking something up for him in this respect. I haven't fished in about 20 years and am completely out of my element... Ideas?
(Adam, BTW, loved the photos in related thread, but too $/not quite what I was looking for!)

My brother got me a fly of the month thing a couple years ago. At first I thought it was stupid since I'm so picky about flies, and thought I didn't need any royal wulffs etc., but it was cool with new patterns.

Simms Derek DeYoung trout graphic water bottles seem to be popular this Christmas season at the shop I work at. There are two graphics: Brown Trout and Rainbow Trout. I'm sure that your local Simms retailer has them.

I sold a bunch of Umpqua coffee mugs last year. There are a bunch of fish graphics plus the "Metz Male Model" (the rooster graphics).

These items won't set you back any more than $25.

It's out, but it's $35 and worth it! Bass: The Movie is finally on DVD. If you want to see some quality fish porn, you gotta watch it.

is he a reader?
"into the backing" ( forgot author, google)
"fishless days, Angling nights" ( great)
"fly-fishing the high-country" (john Gierach)
go to Kaufman's or Orvis online and poke around...
