Looking for Jackets with Tall necks.
Not really sure how else to describe it.
My face was on the verge of frostbite multiple times last year until I found a Mammut jacket that zipped clear up to my nose. I can't stand neck gaitors or facemasks, so the full zip was awesome.
Most jackets, it seems, zip to just below your chin or maybe to your mouth.
Hopefully I can find something that doesn't make me look like I'm going to climb the alps (the mammut).
orage is your answer for sure. Tall enough so yo can bury your face in the neck and be warm.

I use an Arcteryx Stinger because of the high collar / long neck. It's not quite to my nose, but it def covers my mouth and can cover all the way to my goggles with the hood up. My nose still gets cold, but that's because I have a big nose.

I was going to suggest Mammut, but then I read your post. My Extreme Hybrid jacket has a HUDGE collar, and I don't think I look i'm going to climb the Alps
I wish, except I had a patroller friend essential escort me into the lodge because he didn't like the look of my cheek skin. I have a Mammut stratus hybrid which is getting the job done, but am looking for other options.Quote:

FWIW, I'm looking for up to goggle coverage with the hood up, I understand any collar will be a bit lower with the hood down. I'm also not looking for something that I need to turtle my head inside on a lift. I'm looking for full coverage while skiing.
Musto, Gill and Henry & Loyd... basically any yahting/sailing apparel manufacturer... They all have retarted high necks.
But them be pricey. Look for stuff meant for offshore sailing / competing.

DNA Moe- one of the reasons I have two of these in my closet is the ability to tuck my face into the collar all the way to the edge of my goggles. Really great jacket, a little pricy MSRP- you might be able to find last year's on sale if you hunt around some.
Note: Other DNA jackets aren't necessarily cut as roomy in the collar, just this particular model.

I too love the ability to zip up and keep my face from looking like I've just been to Everest and keep on ripping when the others have gone in. All the Norrona shells have great hood/tall necks, I've got the Lofoten Hybrid, pretty money. Patagonia also does pretty well on this front (Primo models and Stretch Element). Finally, Eider jackets are pretty good on this front too.
I just returned a Rossignoll jacket to Marshall's because the neck was so high.
Just picked up a dope Helly jacket on here from Dumpy. Super high neck i can bury my whole face in, covers up to the top of my ears, also has an offset zipper and a breathing holes in the front. Light insulation, 15k wp, great venting architecture, good street jacket, etc....
Burton AK Hover jacket has a very high collar.
You actually need that beak thing everyone made fun of a while back. I would imagine that the frostbite is on the cheeks and tip of nose just under the goggle line.
No jacket collar will help that. Maybe a mesh new schooler bandana, I wear that when it is frostbite weather, the mesh lets out the a lot of the breath vapor so it doesn't ice up so bad. Or go world cup style and put tape on your cheeks and nose.
Once you get the frostbite, it comes back quickly in the same spots, forever. Just speaking from personal experience.

Its great for freezing cold ski days, its completely windproof, warm, a hood that fits a helmet, and has a HUGE collar. Like up over your nose. I would check out other belay style jackets as they probably have similar designs.
