A little computer help...please?

I'm no PC jong, but I am having trouble fixing a problem with my laptop.
I am trying to copy files to a new blank CD, and every time I try to open the cd drive, I get the error

D:/ is not accessable. Incorrect Function.

However If I put a CD that I have previously added files to, it works fine.

What could be causing this issue, and how should I fix it. I have tried system restore, tried different media, and rebooted more times than I care to.

Have you formatted your blank CD yet?
Also, you might try opening the drive with a different burning program, my comp came from the factroy with 3 different programs capable of burning CD's.

It sounds like you're trying to drag & drop files right onto your CD drive, the same way you could copy files from one harddrive to another harddrive.

Don't do that.

And why would this all of a sudden change? It has always worked just fine before?
