Google says; "Extruded Ski Base—Typically found on entry-level and intermediate skis, extruded bases are relatively inexpensive and easy to repair. They are formed from melted polyethylene pellets. They are not as abrasion-resistant as sintered bases (see below), nor do they hold wax as well."

I didn't know that about the bases; would you expect a $450 powder ski like the Mo'ship to have extruded or more expensive sintered bases?

Extruded bases are dog shit. They are slow, don’t hold wax, gouge easily, and don’t react well to stone-grinds… basically you’ve never heard of them because no decent skis have had an extruded base in, oh, 30 years.

A word to the wise: Never buy anything with the word "lite" in the name.
