Summit Report: A-Basin/Lovleand/Copper/Keystone/Breck report! SNOW BLOW!
COPPER MOUNTAIN IS OPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
FOR RACE TRAINING ONLY!!! GRRRRRRRRR... maybe if pretend to be a racer I can ski for a few minutes until they catch on and take me behind a pine tree to beat the shit out of me with a snowboard. Copper is blowwing hte upper half of the mountain.
I was out on a scree field on the N side of Montezuma Rd... looked over... Keystone is blowing Schoolmarm on lower and upper mountain. You heard it! Keystone has fired up their guns.
Then I drove to work and Breckinridge had its guns blowing on the lower half of the mountain for one slope! You heard it! Breckenridge has fired up their guns. I think its the stuff under the Beaver Run chair. I can see the beautiful white plumes outside the window RIGHT NOW!
Arapahoe Basin and Loveland are still blowing in a race against each other. They'd better hurry up! The office pool is betting on Oct-31 for A-Basin... that's what A-Basin employees seem to be saying.
I don't know what is happening in Eagle County but I'd wager BC and Vail are blowing too.
It's so nice to have a day that is actually a little bit cool. Snow predicted on Oct-30 and 31!
Now for the downer... word is that Breck is changing its official opening date to Nov 19th and the higher ups are saying that it probably won't open more than one or two slopes until around Dec 4-9. Source is second hand from a Breck employee. As of this post Brecks website still claims Nov 14. If the rumors or true it probably doesn't bode well for other VRI resorts.

A lot can change between now and then. A couple nice November snowfalls and everything could be right back on schedule.

That Breck employee must not know that we get natural snow in Colorado. :rolleyes:
Loveland will open Monday I can feel it!.... if not, their calendar says Tuesday and the weather looks like it will hold up.
