If the Yankees suck, then where does that leave my beloved Red Sox?

Buckner.
Certainly not in that hotbed of bigtime professional sports that we like to call "Sactown".Quote:

NY 4 Eva, Biotches.
It's going to happen the same way as last year, Yanks win the East, Sox win the Wild Card, and then the RedSox get anally raped with a sharp stick.

pretty confident in that starting pitching are we irul?
lets compare the matchups....
tonight: el duke Vs. charels bronson. close matchup
el duke, the most consistant of the yankee starters has the edge here i belive. he is 0-1 vs, the red sox with an era of 3.60 against lefties (ortiz to come up big along with trot tonight) but he kills righties with a 1.11 era.
bronson is 0-0 in yankee stadium this year with an era of 3.00. righties have been hitting him well, but he had good success last time in the bronx keeping the sox in the game and they got the win to sweep the bombers. he's shown good poise under stress, and spun a shut out last apearence in seattle. hopefully he'll go at least five strong tonight. He says he's feeling more confident than he has all season. hopefully Ivan wont rain him out.
edit: for updated bronson information, my mind was a piece of shit earlier.
tomarrow: lowe Vs. Lieber
Lowe, while terrible the first half, has showed his old form of late winning five out of his last seven starts. his ERA has been declining all season after peaking in july at 8.91. his september ERA is 2.61. he is much better in night games, and i think this one is a daytime affair, where his era is up arount 7. goiong to need a guts performance from him, but lieber isn't excatly the toughest opponent in the AL
Lieber, 4-3 since the all star break has an ERA of 4.91 vs. the sox who bat + .300 against him. both these pitchers can be great or sucky. both give up big hits. i give the nod to lowe because i think he's really out to prove somthing and if he comes with his A sinker he will do well, but lieber is 2-0 (although he did give up 10 hits in five innings in his last start, so thats kinda back to his old self) in september and has elevated his game as well. should be an exciting matchup with a lot of balls in play.
sunday: punchado vs. mussina
pedro hands down.
mussina is 0-1 with 5.6 ERA against the sox who hit him at a .333 clip. he is 2-4 in his last seven with a 4.47 ERA. he is notorious for not being a big game pitcher.
Pedro is 1-0 at yankee stadium with a 1.93 ERA with the bombers batting a wopping .163 against him. He is 4-2 in his last seven with a 1.84 ERA and opponent batting average of .179. punchado loves to pitch in the bronx on a big game. he'll get the W here.
it will be a good series. but i'm thinking the sox have the edge in the pitching and defensive matchups. looking forward, in a five game playoff series, the matchups would favor the sox even more. in a seven ganme series the matchups also favor the sox, but it would be much closer i would think.
pretty excited for sure. get it bronson. git sum
you mean Indianapolis West?Quote:

anyone watch 9 innings from Ground Zero the other night on HBO?
I heard that Bill Buckner was so depressed after that error in Game 6, that he tried to kill himself by jumping in front of a bus, but it went through his legs.

Buckner is no longer a person, Buckner is legacy and fate.
