Nice sunset pic but I highly recommend getting the horizon line square - an almost straight horizon just makes the pic weird - if you want an artsy look, make it enough of a diagonal that it looks like it was meant to be a diagonal, not like it was a mistake.
I heart the sunset pic through the tunnel.
I think its safe to say that either your scanner sucks, or that the "lab" is a hole in the ground.

Isn't that last picture a caravan on floats? Maybe its an otter but I think Otter's are twins. Pretty sure that's a cessena caravan, but I might be drunk too.

I think your scanner messed up those shots, you can see consistent lines through them. That looks like a single Otter, the twin is one of the most incredible planes ever built, but the single is pretty sweet too.
Get your horizon lines straight and there will be a lot less "maggot heckle". Sunset shot is cool.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Beaver came out as a stock turbine model during the laste 1960's.
The Otter has a more blunt nose, and the Caravan windshield slopes back more.
Both the Beaver and Otter (and the Goose and Widgeon) are common Bush planes. The Caravan is used more down here as a commuter. In fact, Caravans are our regularly scheduled commuter in and out of here.

I wish i had time/$$$ to fly. We had a 172 growing up. I remember weekends w/ my dad going down to the airport and just flying around the puget sound. Pretty cool memories. I especially remember the fall days. Man I wish I were a kid again...
Just keep takin em man. Listen to the suggestions, take the "bashings" with a grain of salt. At least you are out there trying and better shots will come with practice and knowledge of the camera.
I gotta say that for some reason maggots seem to gang up on the younger ones, take Samwich back in the day, then DINMS, then Max and AKPM,........hell, I got it good too, but then again I am a no-good snowboarder. :D
Personally I think we are jealous that you are at an age where life is simple and a lot easier.
Constructive criticism is a great thing and will help you mature with your hobby/work. These guys have their shit down, listen for sure.

people tend to make photos (even artsy ones) a lot more interesting i have found. seems obvious, but think of it more when you get your camera out.
Good suggestion. Think how much cooler the Otter pic would be with someone posed on the float to give a better sense of scale and to draw the viewer into the pic by imiagining standing in thier place.Quote:

Have you signed up for an art or photography class? Both will help with composition.
Thats a turbo single otter sweet airplane, the skyvan is a cessna 207, also a sweet plane
I agree people make things better unfortunately there were no people with me in the pictures but I try to take people pictures if I can.
I took a Photo class last year and hope to take more classes whne I hit college

I flew with Paul Claus in his turbo Otter. The thing was bad ass, and his piloting skills weren't too bad either.
I've seen that thing nearly flying backards the winds were so high, but the most fun is watching Dan our Otter pilot with an empty aircraft he hauls ass. He taught me how to start it too :DQuote:
