Hunting Gophers. C&C appreciated

Would love to hear what works and what doesn't in this set. Feel free to be as honest as you want. Kind of trying to start a set here, not much in terms of gophers so far, but hopefully soon.

I like 2-5, the higher contrast of the first and last don't seem to fit the theme as much to me.They isolate the subject too much from the surroundings

I like 1 the best with genuine facial expressions and a loose capture of the two guys.

The out-of-focus fingers (holding the bullets) in the 3rd one leave me dissatisfied.

The crop in 6 near the very bottom seems sloppy, though if fixed, I'm not sure I would "feel" anything from it.

The misty photos don't do much for me. Not sure if possible, but #2 could probably use some help from more pronounced plant life. #5 would be better in my eyes if the guy in the red jacket was in-focus while leaving the other guy and everything else blurred.

Thanks for the input. I wasn't really sure how to transition from the low contrast fog shots to the high contrast stuff. There wasn't really an option for anything halfway between. Maybe if they were in a different order?

are you shooting photos for an ad or what? those tow guys just look like guys out "plinking" to me...

We were just out walking around looking for gophers. There are plenty of trails out in that fog that the gophers like to hang out on. If we are going to talk semantics, we dont even shoot gophers in montana, we shoot groundsquirrels. Appreciate the feedback. I agree, it does kind of look "ad-y". I was going to go skiing that day, then we got rained out and decided to drive up into the forest and look for ground squirrels to shoot. I wasnt planning to shoot a essay, so I was just being snap-shotty.

And tipp- a plan is in the works. That is kind of a crucial aspect.

Single, I really enjoy your photos-you are developing a good eye.

And don't mind my parody, the kids were kind of amusing with their being oblivious to the vehicles. They did get my old man lecture.;)

Looks better to me since it's now more dynamic. I particularly like how my eye is drawn to the 2nd bullet from the left which is also level with the forend on the other side.

mt cham, those kid shots were ridiculous. In one of them, it looks like the barrel was nearly pointed at a car, and it probably was in the next step. Thanks for the encouragement. And for the ruger, its a semi auto, so a banana clip would be a good investment!!
