Did it really get cold enough to snow near the Elkins Touring Center last night?

Dude, I tell ya: the weather is weeeeird.
Florida getting pounded by three CONSECUTIVE hurricanes... WV getting snow in September... 55 degrees in LA in early August. Yep. Weird. Sucks for Fla. (I feel your pain, guys), but could be interesting for the rest of us.
Side note: has anyone paid attention to the trend between hurricane season and winter? Like: does a shitload of hurricanes translate to volatility in the atmosphere in winter, meaning the same effect causes muy mucha nieva (snow)? I would be interested to see if there is any correlation. Don't really have much snow around here to gauge that relationship by, so you guys might be able to help me out in that area... ;)
Dont know the temps real well, but anytime I camped near Elkins during college, it got relatively cold.
I can believe it.
edit: I dig the new avatar :D
