Hey, we got lucky and scored a condo at Wolf Creek for December 17 - 24. Does anyone know where you can get discount lift tickets (besides buying multi-days at the window which only saves you a buck a day!)? Also, does anyone have any beta, advice, tips, anecdotes or anything about Wolf Creek. All we know is tha it gets the most powde in Colorado.

Wolfie does both college and local discounts on the weekends, the local discount is pretty easy to get by on. BTW for what you pay, it's worth every $, I've never felt shorted on a day at Wolf Creek.
They are a mom and pop stop so you won't see any coupons at the grocery store etc. Which side of the pass are you on?
Pagosa or Southfork? Pagosa has a little more to offer for nightlife and some great hotsprings.

I love Wolf Creek and usually make a pilgrimage there every year or so. Never been there in December, but they can get hit any time. I have never had less than 12" fresh and had several 20" days in a row over 4-5 trips.
The mountain is steep at the top and a bit flat at the bottom. In fact it is so flat in places that they actually get (dare I say it) too much snow! Stick to the Alberta face (steep and open) and Waterfall area (steep and gladed with more than a few cliffs). Knife ridge can be pretty hairy if if is open.
Not much to do on either side of the pass, but Pagosa has a bit more night life and the hot springs are great for a soak after an epic day.

Ski the knife ridge and the waterfall areas for steep and deep. And explore in the trees above the main area. Good stuff.
Maybe the Gems people finally got Wolf Creek in for this season. I know they've been trying. But in general, WC charges what they feel they have to in order to run a successful area without any coupon gimmicks. One price for everybody. But there might be a local's day on either the 21st or 22nd. That's half price, so keep an eye out for it.
And wax your bases to make those traverses easier...

Thanks for all the info! We're staying at the Fairfield Pagosa Springs and we love most everything black diamond (my eleven year-old and I are also HUGE bump fans).
I can't wait. (laughs to self and begins trudging down to the basement to begin preparing skis for what i hope is an early season!):D
