I know it sounds crazy, but most places charge you to take this old junk. A lot of the stuff can be recycled, but there are hazardous materials that need to be disposed of properly--or at least SHOULD be.Quote:

I for one don't need any more electronics detritus accumulating in my basement!
Many states or counties charge for hazardous waste disposal of the lead that's in the glass of a CRT display, and in the solder.
In most areas, there are reclamation companies that will PAY you for old 'puter equipment. They pull all the old boards out & smelt off the gold, nickel, platinum - usually not much, but if you have a backseat full of stuff, it'll buy you a case of decent brews.
Buddy that runs a computer Co. filled up their 24' box truck with nothing but "junk" equipment - all stuff they'd replaced...He ended up with over $3k.
