Dual Exhaust :D

I 'm driving my truck ('92 Ferd diesel) like a kid. I picked up my truck after work Friday and had to go take it for a climb. I went to the Rossland hill for a comparison. I used to be able to get it into 5th at 95kph and watch the speedo drop until I had to put it back in 4th. Now I put it into 5th at 85kph and she slowly accelerates. Out on the highway there is a noticable increase in power between 90kph and 120kph. She passes like never before. She's a little louder when not working hard but when I get on the throttle and get the RPMs into the mid 20s she has a mean frapppppp if I keep my foot to the mat. If I back off a touch the frapppp goes away somewhat and the power does not decrease noticably. I could put a Harley to shame at hte right RPMs . I like it, I like it alot. I think my wife will hate my truck a little more. :D

Putting a HD to shame, how hard is that really?
Its just the shop air compressor on 2 wheels.

Now a CBR600, etc. You aint putting any REAL motorcycle to shame.

So what about an engine brake on you diesel? Now there's the sound off diesel power. Compression braking. Ahhh! Stinky diesels!

I've never been a fan of H-D's, but its harder than you think. I bike is still quicker than ALOT of the cars out there.

Hell given a real 440yd dash(1/4mi) my '85 Suburban turns 15's and hogs do what? 14's. Not talkin a Buell those are 13's and ZX12 9's? Never seen an HD go thru a 1' of fresh. While both my 'Burban and XT have, easily. :p ;)

385hp out of that camaro and only mid 13s? What tires are you running? Stall speed? You still have the stock rear suspension setup?

I built that one at 15 and ran it on the strip just after I turned 16, I'm pretty sure the driver had something to do with the times. Suspension was stock w/ posi-trac rearend, the engine was a balanced and blueprinted 327, bored .003 over w/ holley 850, crane cam, forged pistons, blah, blah, blah.
Really, though - 12's are pretty fast for a street vehicle if you stay off the juice. A buddy's hitting the low 9's with a 850hp Fiero and nos.

Well there's the problem an 850 carb on a lil 327!
Something like a 600 double pumper would work WAY better. Its not just whats under the hood, though the Brodix heads help, stuff like 4.56 gears are key. Though ya need OD to run'em on the street. Also you meant .030 overbore, right? BTW might wanna look into Airlift airbags to help the rear leafs from wrapping. They help w/ the launch fer sure. :eek:
Hell wait til I swing my L82 vette engine, 10:1, 2.02 heads, roller rockers, blah blah blah into my 68 chevy p/u, 13's easy. To funny now, w/ a mild 350 how many peeps I freak out.

Sold that car in '87, wish I knew in '85 what I know now- at 15, it was just bigger must be better. Getting power to the wheels, pffft - irrelevant, I've got horsepower under the hood.:rolleyes:

Truck sounds like it will be sweet, I've got a '57 chevy Nomad sitting waiting for a rebuild. I wasn't trying to be a dick - I really am curious about the 'burban, have no doubt it can hit 15's.

Chop the mad! 383 FI ATI procharger, 4L80 or 5 speed and a 9" then your styling huh? Got ft discs yet? Thats the next step for my 68 sleeper. Think the Burban needs a Procharger next yr, just damn, $4K w/ intercooler and plumbing.
Building engines is so much easier now daze. Hell buy a Chevy 572 w/ warranty for $14K. OMG! How crazy is that?

Eh, with the things get misinterpreted on here, I figured I'd be safe.
The 57 has been sitting in a barn in Sask since before I was born, my grandpa said he parked in about 65 and it hasn't moved since. He gave it me when I turned 18 and I've been waiting for the time and $$$$$ to do it right. It's a tough call, being that the body and chassis is mint and its still got 100% original parts. Part of me wants custom, but part of me wants to do a factory restoration.

Lack of $$, the curse of all real world car builders. Heck it took me 3 yrs to get my 4x4 diffs for redone. But now all new and built for abuse! Doin a FI 383 small block this winter. Where oh where am I gonna get my pass $ from? Hello Visa!?
