LBS Question
I know there are some bike shop fools floating around the board and have a ?. So, I'm looking to buy a new mt bike. However, I bumped in to some extra cash and I'm thinking about also buying a new roaddie. Want to spend around $1500 for each. What are the chances I can talk the shop in giving my a hook up for buying two bikes? Should I expect any disccount? Talk amongst yourselves.
Thanks

I wouldn't say to "expect" a discount. I would hope that you would be treated fairly and not looked at like you're a "walking deposit." I consider everybody that comes into my shop to be my guest, not just a customer.

Shop I work at offers a "family discount". Buy 2 or more bikes and they'll knock off 5% of the price.
If you're buying 2 high value bikes, I'm sure the shop will work with you to make the deal. Ask for the owner/manager.

Like was said already bike stores have a VERY small profit % to play with.
5% for 2 bikes sounds good, Also pay cash so they dont get hit with the visa/ mastershark 2-3% for that too.
$1500 each will get you a nice ride.
for the road bike keep in mind shoes/ pedals and reapir kit in the price too.
Also stores have WAY more % profit in the soft goods. if you buy a $700 bike and a $200 jacket they might make about the same money after either. so if you need stuff like shorts, jeseys, tool, parts, but them at the same time and get a bigger discound on them. and not much on the bike itself
