I'm going with Ullrich.
I think my avatar says it all. Good call.
I think Jan will take it, but theres an outside chance that Tyler Hamilton will grab gold. I hope so, it would be nice to see the guy finally catch a good break.
I still have my doubts because of his back injury, but I will go with Tyler. In his post RR interview over the weekend he mentioned that he thought the course should have been harder. So maybe he has recovered from the Tour injury.
go Tyler!!!
From Cycling News live coverage:
"17:18 EEST
Jan Ullrich, the last rider on the list, is now under way. The German looks very mean and focused. He wants that gold medal."
We'll see...
Live coverage on now at cyclingnews.com
GOLD for Tyler! I think Julich might gave gotten the bronze. Good for Tyler.
Edit:
Hamiltion Gold
Ekimov Silver
Julich Bronze
Two americans and and a Russian on an american team, nice. Nice job by the "old" guy Eki.
HOLY FUKKING SHITE!!!!! go tyler! go bobby!
Sweet! I'm a big fan of all three riders. And who said that Tuler would win gold before anyone else did? Huh?:p
I knew he was due for a big result sooner or later, a person can only have so much bad luck.

cycling news does live coverage(no audio or video) for most major races, it's a great cycling site.

Tyler rocks. What a great guy and so cool to see him get this! The race of truth.
Solid ride by both Eki and Julich. Eki is pretty phenomenal for an "old guy" ;) Cool to see Julich back riding well. Who would have predicted 2 of three to the US!?!?!?
Oh my GOD Bobby nailed it in the last 7 miles I'm stoked, freaking awesome race
check out tylers bike www.tylerhamiton.com its freaking sick
This has made me more stoked then any of lances tour wins, I think I'll do some riding tomorrow;) I've gone their average speed before, going full out on a down hill
I love how all the riders have their bikes team colors cept Eki for obiouse reasons, USPS bikes all have the American flag, was Eki on the trek I couldn't tell

Tell me about it. The other day I was driving up 89 and got stuck behind a pack of riders for a few seconds. I looked over at the speedometer, 15 mph. This was on a nearly flat stretch of road. Then it occured to me, "Lance averaged 15 mph up the Alp de Huez." :eek:Quote:
