Blizzak Snow Tires

I'm headed out of Utah, so I don't need my Blizzak LM-22 snowtires from my Audi S4. These things made my Audi handle better in Wasatch deep snow than my 2000 Wrangler did. They have probably 15,000 miles on them, and the guy at the tire shop told me they probably had 1/2 of thier life left on them. One has a patch in it from a small nail.

You may want to consider keeping 'em. Those things will come in handy as you make the trip from CT to Jay along I-91 in terrible conditions while questing for east coast pow in awful, awful road conditions. There were many times this winter where I spent 5 hours or more going from Boston to VT on roads with significant snow and mush on them.

I am thinking about that, but could use the money right now. I threw some all seasons on it reciently and that should carry me through the winter. Sadly, I didn't do the research on the new tire and have read some bad storys about them.

I would strongly recommend holding on to them. I've gone the past few seasons without snowtires but finally got some this past christmas. It was stupid to wait so long. If you are getting up early to drive north, the road wont be plowed until the drive home that evening, and will seriously reduce headaches. Not to mention 300 bucks is cheap insurance...and beats rolling the S4 on 91 on the way to jay.


Especially if you wind up skiing in maine you'll want to keep them, it takes forever for plows to reach the secondary roads that go to the mountains.


Edit: during the big storm in december, I left Hanover at 430 am and got to the sugarbush parking lot at 830. 4 hours for a ~70 mile drive. Not a single plow had touched 89, and basically the entire trip was a controlled slide. Definately stressful. That was the last time I drove without snowtires during winter.

I have been thinking about a set o these bad boys for my daily ride up the Canyon Nov-April.

dude, the northeast is hardcore for winter driving. Keep em if you plan on going north of killington. Or even TO killington

Its gonna require more than a beer for me to drive down to CT from ME and pick you up.

Hells yeah. Plus if you wanna ski on storm days, you need snows, as the plowing is laughable once you start up in maine. Especially since none of the ski areas are really near any major highway. Hell, even southern NH can be bad, as I have done many a 360 on my way to the mountains going through portsmouth on black ice. Seriously, the west gets more snow, but we get more crap, such as ice.
