Riding again
Sorry, no pics or interesting TR. Just pumped for my first day back on the bike.
I had planned to go riding on Friday, but couldn't get anybody to go with me. I wasn't able to get time again until yesterday, so my anticipation was unbearable. I took the Bullit with me so that I could have that extra bit of squish to cushion my hand. Not really an exciting ride. Took a fireroad climb to a nice, fast singletrack downhill. My hand felt a bit weak, but didn't hurt much at all. My only real hold-up was that I couldn't get my front brake lever very close to the bar (the adjustment screw was min'd out), making it much harder to brake continuously. That and the fact that my hand has had little use lately made for the quick onset of some very intense arm pump. It wasn't enough to make me stop, but it kept me from really opening it up.
I was really surprised how much control I had. I kinda pissed I didn't start riding a week ago.

hell yeah!... I can pretty much now ride how I want to, but not for as long as I would like. strength is coming back though.
...haven't seen Al for a while. I heard he bailed on the jump he's been eyeing and I haven't seen him since(don't think he's hurt though). anyways scoped out some new dj's yesterday and was able to step up to the bigger stuff pretty quickly. feels good to be back on it for sure.

Good for you! :D
The riding you missed this past week is more than offset by the healing of your broken bits.
My one day back on the bike - 75 miles for the MS ride - felt fabulous; even if it did lead to some swelling. My right hand is definitely not strong to ride the mountain bike yet. :( I see my doc again Friday and I'm hoping he cuts me loose to do whatever I'm comfortable doing.
Doesn't it feel great to be back on the bike.

GOOD
I am pretty sure your bike was pissed at you for not being able to exercise its fabulous parts for a while, especialy that 888 up front. I am sure it was dying to be used. Well good to hear you are back on your feet. Oh and Hev I did let myself get slightly injured trying racer main and not knowing what to do when I landed. I tried to eject from the bike and ended up racking myself on the post while landing in the second gap, but I am okay now, but the bike has lost it rear brakes and i have been too busy to fix them. This all happened last Friday night, should be out at the park soon to successfully get the racer line.
