Looks like CSU might be our desintation now. Found some stumbling points with MSU and we're now leaning towards CSU for next fall (I can get in-state at CSU). Clitus, MD9, Fog Daddy, Hev, Crinkle, LB, all y'all betta watch out!

Fort Collins aint bad Rev, but its not my favorite. But CSU is good stuff, and its really not all that far from the hills. You should chat with snowfire, she is/was a student there, and also a volly patroller at A-basin or Loveland or something. She can prolly give you some decent beta.

Yeah, Clitus, I know. But apparently there is some decent backcountry within an hour of FC. DU also has a program for about 3 times the tuition and supposedly an inferior program in this field. And you know I'll be down in Denver by Friday afternoon, hookin' rides with you, MD and Froggy every fackin' weekend. Plus side is FC has good climbing and upland bird shootin', plus decent mountain biking from what I've read. So suck it, Trabeck!

seriously, how ABOUT colorado school of mines? In Golden, as close to front range skiing as you can get...mebbie 20 mins to Loveland/Berthoud and 45 or so to A-basin or Mary Jane...
Cameron Pass is right up the road on 14 from Ft. Fun, No I-70 BS. Snowy Range, WY is about 1.5 hrs for some great spring chutes.
I like Fort Collins, nice town.
Cameron Pass and the Diamond Peaks, about 45 minutes-an hour up the Poudre. Beautiful drive, even better skiing. I've had some amazing days up there. And the best thing is, there's rarely anyone up there so you basically have the place to yourself and maybe 3 or 4 others. Montgomery Pass is right down the road too, quite a bit flatter but good for days when avy danger is high.
Mountain biking up the Poudre is sweet too, and Boulder's not far- there's great biking all over. If you're into rafting or kayaking, the Poudre definitely has that- there are always people out on the river. Unfortunately I haven't had the money to get into that, but it looks sick. Bouldering is awesome too, basically in my backyard is Rotary Park by Horsetooth Reservoir- there are some tough problems up there.
The nightlife isn't big-city, but it isn't bad. Our beer is unequaled in the US (but of course, I'm biased). :D

Yeah, I'm here, and, uh, Art Vandelay is going to be here next year. Not sure what you want to study, but Mines is a bit of a specialized school. Although, you could always take the easy way out and get a Computer Science degree. I'm doing EE and aiming to graduate December '06 (4.5 yrs). We'll see how it goes.Quote:

Easy access to both I-70 and highway 6 depending on which hell you like to drive up during peak season. Definitely easy access to plenty of skiing, both lift serviced and foot serviced.
I like the atmosphere of the town here. It's a small town seperate from the big city with plenty of older style buildings (I don't like those plastic suburb type of houses). It also has that big brewery that gives free samplings (never been personally), and almost every fast food option you can think of within fairly quick driving distance. Also nearby is that large Denver West Mills mall, or whatever it's called, and two decent sized movie theaters (same company) across the street from each other so they show every major movie.

2.15 hours to the boat when I lived in fort fun. :D
The fort is a great place to live and study. Great bars (The trailhead, east side, lucky joe's, etc.), good climbing, great shootin', close to some great bc (cameron, buff pass, 'ears pass, hahn's peak, boat, etc.:
One word for the bc up that way: "solitude". Won't see half the jamokes as you do elsewhere in Northern Colorado.
