back in the saddle....again!

well instead of sitting in the rain watching bmx'ers do there thing down in denver I decided my hand was healthy enough to ride.

ventured out for a few rides this weekend. the first some techy and fun signletrack in west mag. then saturday a nice shuttle ride, and sunday was back to west mag. i actually slipped off the bars once on friday(did not fall), but mostly i felt really good and reasonably strong considering i haven't touched a bike in 5 weeks.

Congrats! I know that feeling of that first ride after a long hiatus - nothing like it!

Good news. I, too, know the feeling. My first time on my bike in two weeks due to knee injury was yesterday, when I tackled the gnarly and technical Boulder Canyon bike path. Amazingly, I was able to ride it without dabbing.

Hey hev. How's your flexibility and strength? Have you been doing anything to get them back to normal (besides riding)? I go to the Ortho tomorrow and get the final decision on whether they think I can ride w/in the next 2 weeks. However, I'm a bit worried because my hand is still really stiff and you can visually see the decrease in size and muscle tone.

bag i see a hand specialist to work on mobility mostly. it's pretty basic stretching but some of the moves I am not able to do on myself. my wrist is still stiff from my original injury but it makes slow progress and i seem to be back to where i was before my most recent injury.

i havent' gotten the go ahead from the doc start strenghtening but i just use a couple different hand strengtheners you can buy at health stores. flat tennis balls are good too.
