Looking to meet up with San Diego Mags for a surf!!

I haven't seen the girlfriend in 5 months or so, so we are taking a trip to San Diego for a couple weeks. Will be there next week, probably camping at Cardiff. I know its going to be a hassle getting spots, but it worked out last summer and will do the same this trip. Although I wouldn't say no to anyone offering up a space in their backyard.

So any mags willing to hook-up for a surf, let me know. I know the area and breaks well b/w La Joya and Oceanside.

Also, if anyone from the area knows of some good places for demoing boards, fishes, summertime grovellers, even some Firewires, let me know. I've contacted some of the local shapers off the surfermag forum like DK and Zamora so thats a start. Although I'm liking the sounds of the Lost Rocket so might just get one shaped up.

Will also be in San Clemente visiting a cousin so give me a shout if you're around.

I'd love to hook up for a surf, but I'll be in HI next week. Good luck and I hope you get some waves.

As for board demos, try SurfRide in Encinitas and Oceanside. They also have a pretty good variety of boards. I also recommend Mitch's surf shop in La Jolla and Solana Beach. Not sure if they do demos, but they are rock solid - as legit as a surf shop gets.

I've never actually been there but I've heard from several people that it's a good shop that lets you demo anything they sell.

Surf's sucked the past several weeks, hopefully that turns around when you're here. Since I'm leaving, it probably will.
