Topeak Alien. I have discovered I can pretty much take apart/put back together my whole bike with this thing (OK except for the shocks).
Allen wrenches, tire levers, tube, patch kit, pump, cell phone.
Spectacles, testicles, eye of the tiger.
Whatever the guy riding next to me has.
Really,
Just a tire lever, pump, patch kit, and my McGyver manual.
multi tool, pump, spare tube, patch kit, tire levers, spare power bar all go in my saddle bag. And along with my cell phone, food and water and herb sometimes, i'm going to start carrying a shock pump in the camelbak for long rides and a disposable camera. think that's it.
tube, patch kit, tire levers, multi-tool, cell phone, whistle, small first-aid kit, and if I'm going somewhere new; a compass.
In addition to the usual stuff everyone else has said:
MONEY
Medical Ins. Card
Me too and I haven't learned my lesson yet... It's not everyday that you get to have a nice 3 mile walk through the woods, it's just today:( .Quote:

My seat bag contains:
-Topeak Alien (the bigger one with the chain tool)
-Patch kit (the real kind, with glue. Glueless get you down the hill but leak slowly)
-Crank Bros dual-speed mini pump (yes, it fits in the bag, and it works fine)
Sometimes I have:
-Money/ID (including insurance card)
-Cell phone
-Energy bars
jack shit, but an Alien tool would be nice and shorten up some your lists.
allens/chain tool
patch kit/pump/tube/tire levers
first aid kit with spare contact lens, clif bar/gel, painkillers
lightweight jacket or vest depending on weather
zip ties
electrical tape
cell phone/ID
The PDX REI gave 'em out free when they opened.Quote:

Alien
Patch Kit
Pump
That pretty much covers it.
nothing when I'm just riding aroun doing urban shit
when I'm racing or doing an epic ride I carry a tube a pump or co2 can tire levers and a multi tool (allen wrenches/ chain breaker)
I carry most of the normal stuff mentioned here. But I always carry a dollar bill. This past weekend, my riding buddy got a tear in his tubeless tire (and obviously a flat). Well, we used the dollar bill to line the inside of tire where the tear was to prevent the tube from protruding through the tire. Worked like a charm.
Duct tape is also always good to have. Wal-mart sells flat rolls of duct tape that take up very little space... http://www.duckproducts.com/products...subid=1&plid=8
Perhaps I'm a bit dense this morning, but why is there a tube in your friend's tubeless tire?Quote:

There wasn't...until he tore the tire.Quote:

Correct. No tube in the tubeless tire until after the tear. Another item people with tubeless tires should be riding with is a spare tubeQuote:
