TR: Landfishing

Ok, me and three mags are totally stoked about the big pronghorns hanging around the silos (kinda secret spot in MT). Anyway, we just got the fighting chair mounted in the F-350 dually. After a steathly approach I rolled out a perfect double haul with my 15 wt. Since we weren't going for any kind of IGFA record, I went with a straight 70lb tippet, 100lb fluorcarbon shock tippet, and a simple alfalfa cube astroturf fly tied on a 10 stout circle hook for an easy release.
After I spooked a couple (quickly learned not to twitch the fly) I was hard and fast into a large buck. Holy crap......the first run was smokin the reel so I had Bubba pour beer on the drag. We were backing down as fast as Jim Bob could drive but layer after layer of backing spooled off.........soon I could see the gold anodized arbor and with a loud crack the Loomis and 60 lb Spectra backing all exploded at once.

We're reloading for tomorrow......might try the conventional marlin gear.

My only question... how the hell do you have a stealthy approach in an F-350 dually?
