Lost a Friend Today
Your never prepared to get that call, but late last night a good friend called me and told me our mutual friend and client had an appendectomy Saturday night.
From what we know, he had an allergic reaction to the anesthetic and went into cardic arrest in recovery. When they finally stabilized him, his brain had gone 8-10 minutes without oxygen and was in a coma. With no brain activity, the doc's took him off life support earlier today. He left behind a wife and 11 y/o son.
A super good guy, always laughing and joking, made time for everyone, and was honest and ethical in a business full of scumbags.
I'm so sad and stunned right now....
I'll miss you Gil.

You never think something as random and tragic as this will befall you or yours. So sorry to hear that Stone-Free. Carry on his jovial spirit the best you can.

++++++VIBES++++++
(Life is shit sometimes.)
-
Damn. So sorry to hear that.
-
That's the sort of thing that makes you really appreciate every day, no matter how shitty it might seem to be. At least we're still breathing. Live every day to the fullest!

Sorry man.
So fleeting this life, so fleeting.

It blows my mind how people still die from seemingly innocuous operations. It's something that could happen to anybody - appendicitis, appendectomy, reaction to anesthetic, death. Not blaming anyone, I'm sure the doctors and surgeons did their best, but it's just amazing how such seemingly 'low-key' interventions can end in someone's death. We still know soooo little about life.
Sorry for your loss :(
-
Oh man. So sorry for your loss.
-
I guess if there is an upside, he was an organ donor and they harvested everything they could. Maybe another life can go on, when his could not.
Thanks for all the kind words mags. This place does make a difference...

++++ vibes and so sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear. Condolences to all his friends and family.

sorry to hear that, man.
I almost lost my brother to an anesthetic problem when he had his appendix out, I guess the moral of the story is keep your guard up, anything can happen.
