OK a while back I remember reading about little glass decanters (jarrons) filled with martinis that were inconspicuously placed under trees for skiers at the resort.
Is this true? Tresckow?
Any one ever find and drink out of these “jarrons”. Or are they just myth propagated by marketing?
If they do or did exist, are they free.

Had the pleasure with a few folks that live down there an instructor and a guy who manages a B&B, never heard of jarrens though.
We had a martini tree for years at Purg, too. Couple that puts it up are a pair who lived in Austria for years.
yes i and some friends had the pleasure of getting drunk a few times in the middle of the day courtesy of ernie. ... but since we were never the intended target audience for the martinis we had to find one, then move it and drink in the trees to avoid ernies wrath. he did have a temper, especially when he could not find the buried booze. also unless my memory is faulty, i think the glass containers that were buried were called porrons.Quote:

Oh yeah!
You get someone to hold the martini pouron way above your head and the super cold liquid pours out of the long spout and neatly deposits into your mouth.
So yeah, they do(did) exsist as of a couple seasons ago, but it wasn't like they were under every tree, so knowning where to go helps. Just look for congregations of ski schoolers huddled in the trees on friday mornings.
