B-Squad Cracks
So today I was the third person in my house to crack the sidewall/delam my squads (green topsheets...07 i think). I've got the 189's and my roommates have 184s. What gives with this? granted I definitely hit some rocks but the impact damage is minimal and on their delams there was also little to no impact damage. Is this something these are known to do or are we just going too big?? They both had our local tech repair/epoxy there's but I'm a big guy and its right behind the binding....any thoughts?

Just ski them and try warrantying them at the end of the season. Rossi skis are covered for 2 years if they are drilled for look/rossi bindings and even if you got Salomon or Tyrolia on there, they will often still cover them for 2 years. Just try to make the impact spot seems less visible before you send them back...

Wow, Sorry to here that. Ive tagged lots of rocks (couple of core shots on the edges), and haven't cracked an edge or had any delam issues yet (on 89s also). Been really durable ski for me which is surprising since they are rossis (exluding my axioms, which also seem to be bomber). Do tell how the warranty goes if you go that route. Good luck.

A friend of mine snapped a pair of 189's in half last year from charging into a mogul.... none of us could beleive the ski broke on something as simple as that. I have no explaination, thats just one instance I witnessed.

Rossis have always skied well and compressed easily.

I've seen/heard about/know of at least 6 pairs of those skis from this year and last in whistler which have cracks, bends, or have snapped in half. Seems to be a common issue with that ski and anyone who charges hard. One of my friends just put a rockered tip into her b4 as well. I have no faith in the rossi foam core...

if i remember correctly the reason the b-squad snaps so easily is because the foam core is extremely compressed (much more so than other foam cores) to add to the stiffness, but the draw back to that is that they are brittle
And any ski with a layer of metal is going to bend, especially in longer lengths that have more leverage, i have a SG ski sitting at my house right now that has almost as much tip rocker as my praxis (about 8mm).
