TR: Tamely gettin after Colorado
Just learned new photo tricks! I have Photo Explosion and finally figured out how to merge multiple images into one and some other fun things.
The last 2 weeks in Colorado have been fun for me. These pics and verbs missin their g's show why.
Last weekend, I spent 2 days leechin off the goodwill, gasoline, and truck bed-space of the upstandin members of Colorado's skiin community and hitchhiked rides up Loveland Pass. Not the best visibility but the snow was great and got to really explore some new areas and find fun stuff. For free!

Then it snowed non-stop all last week. I begged boss man for the day off and my wish was granted. My brother owes me $40 so I got his 5-mtn pass and permission to use a Vail day. So Friday morning we drove up Clear Creek Canyon to Kermit's and were stopped by the CDOT because of bad roads and avy danger. The DOT dude told us we couldn't pass unless we had local ID and we'd get a $500 fine if we got caught on the road. We waited 10 minutes too long with the rest of the Front Range crowd before my roommate Nick said F-that and took off, blowin by the plows blockin the road and poached I-70! So rad to be drivin up that road on a powder day, totally alone.
We hit the Basin and found more terrible visibility from snow and heavy winds but it kept the snow feelin fresh. Just gotta remember when skiin in white-out vertigo with variable deep pow and wind blown to always keep Tips^Up

We called friends and family and told them we were snowed in as we drove towards Vail for the next day. Due to non-stop bilzzards, this is the first Holy Cross sightin of the season

Sunday's Front Range forecast called for 60degree weather and I called for a change of equipment, from skis, poles and snowpants to a harness, belay device and t-shirt. My buddy Brandon and I explored a new crag called Hillbilly Rock in Boulder Canyon.

Sometimes, if you ignore the traffic, pollution, smog, over-population and long lift lines and focus on the great snow, fun skiing mountains (far from the best but better than Iowa), lifetime worth of climbing, and the millions of young, gorgeous women the Front Range doesn't seem so bad
