Ok, I'm trading in my SUV on Monday and a little problem has arisen. The windows will only operate when the door is open. Please tell me this is just a fuse and not some additional fuck up by the Ford Motor Co that I can eat before I get my new vehicle. Any advice is very much appriciated!

Sounds like a loose connection to me, check them wires.
As you can tell, I know really a lot about cars.
If they only work when the door is open it's in the wiring harness. Likely either at the switches themselves or in the harness passing from the body to the door. Hopefully at the switches and a quick reseating will fix it.
So where would one find these switches? There's a black tube I presume with wires in it passing from the body to the door. Any advice on how I get to the switches?Quote:
