i have seen lots of trollers with vests similar to these in the past. they seem like the perfect minimalist setup and i saw a bunch people wearing them..
i found a thread from a while back but nobody had really used it. it seems like sort of a resort/ sidecountry thing but still looks pretty cool...

i had one, then returned it. very minimalist. could hold a shovel, probe and water bladder. the pockets are very small. Hip pockets might be able to fit skins, but thats pushing it

I seen quite a few guys hiking the ridge at bridger with them, and have heard nothing but good things. I have a buddy who absolutely loves his, but it is very minimalist. just throwin that out there.
I think functionally they would work great for stuff like hiking at bridger, but I just can't bring myself to wear one.
I feel like if I bought one I'd have to buy baggy pants and wear a bandanna.
I wonder if they make one with a concealed holster for my gat?
I like it for times when my fanny pack fills up. It's really convenient that way.
edit: make sure the color doesn't match the fanny pack, or people will inevitably snicker in your direction
seems convienent for side country or resort. i mean, you can't be expecting too much from it, but it's better than nothing.
THe grey one doesnt look like 50 cents flak jacket. It looked kinda like an oldschool vest when I saw someone wearing it. It was pretty bitchin. If they were 70 or 80 dollars less I would be interested.

I absolutely love mine. Great for Jackson side country. Able to fit an extra pair of goggles, gloves, and base layer no problem in it without having the bulk of a pack. I have even kept a small video camera in the hydration part of it for a head cam without having issues. It's not appropriate for long tours or skinning, but for side country access it's the shit. Plus it feel more comfortable riding switch with it than a pack. Definitely cuts down on bulk. One of the better investments I have made.

Flack jacket can stuff a shovel and probe, but does anyone now if the Flight vest can do the same.
Looks like a perfect tool to use in a big skiresort with short hikes.

Umm... maybe I'm doing it wrong, but I can't see any way to fit a shovel blade in the back pockets. I bought one on a whim and got it, and it's not even close... Which seems really stupid because this would indeed be the perfect minimalist East Vail/Jackson slackcountry/Bridger Ridge device. Something that you'd forget was on your back.
The bulk of a pack is enough to keep my lazy ass out of the backcountry sometimes, so I really wish they'd just make the back panel pocket bigger. Unless I bought something different from whatever everyone else has...

I went with a very small backpack: the Black Diamond Bandit Avalung
It seemed a better choice. Shovel, Probe, Avalung, water bottle, skins, down vest, and it is stuffed to the brim, but super light, low profile, and has an avalung and good ski carry. Perfect for inbounds and days where sidecountry is not a certainty but you want to keep options open. I wear it all the time inbounds.
I have a flak jacket and yeah, the shovel pocket is pretty small. But I got it to fit.
The issue I had, was that the pocket for the probe was really small. It took me several tries to get my probe in, and I still had to spit on it first.
Flight vest is not the Flak Jacket. Flight Vest is for moto.
Edit: Anybody have one for sale? I can't find one anywhere!!!

Good idea on switching the handle and probe spots.
I like mine a lot, it works good for the sidecountry trips but it is pretty minimalist. I think Ogio discontinued this model, so the only place to really find them in on ebay.
