Well Maggots, Time I checked back in. I had a conversation with Woodsy (D-Day or whatever he goes by now) a few weeks ago and have not been able to shake thoughts of this group since. He told me about Nils. ugh.
I have been hiding out, mostly working a lot. I had to deal with a somewhat ugly re-lapse of my alcoholism. Some of you saw the beginning of my downward spiral. Fortunately, I bounced off a low bottom and have been sober again a couple of years. I am very lucky that Mrs Chair has stuck with me through it all and I did not jeopardize my job.
I am living in Philadelphia now, but my time is divided between Boston, Providence, NYC, NJ, Philly and AC. Not too good for a skier. I miss the West more than ever. I miss LA and I miss Mammoth more than I can say. I also love my job and it allows us a pretty nice lifestyle. Mrs Chair and I will definitely be back there someday. I have a reasonable chance of staying with my company and getting to Portland OR in the next couple of years.
I have not been able to ski too much. I am on the road so much for my job, that when I do have time off, Mrs Chair is pretty demanding of my time. I am still buying a Mammoth pass so I stay in the “club”. I now need to ski there like 27 or so days to make my unused last 2 season’s passes pay.
I looked around here and see a lot of the same old antics, but there is definitely some new craziness. Maggot Elders, Please check in on this thread and let me know who is still out there!!
