bending brakes...
so i got a pair of used skis in the mail today, and the brakes are slightly bent downwards (if i were to click a boot in, some of the plastic is below the edges). how do i go about bending these? a pair of plyers and some perseverence or is there a special way i want to go about it (never bent brakes, so i'm clueless)?

heating them up helps. Use a heat gun if available, although I don't imagine that a hair dryer would heat it up nearly enough.
be careful heating them up while on your skis...don't want to fry your sidewalls/edges...

yeah, it all worked out. plyers and a hammer are your friends.

Future reference, a cut off ski pole works great, cut below the handle 3-4 inches, and you have a new tool to bend brakes without marring them or wrenching the shit out of our hand.
