So should i take the job at steamboat

OK guys,
I was offered a job at steamboat for next winter. I would be part of the National Ski Patrol there. I dont know why i am even second doubting this one. maybe its because i dont know anyone there. Its a scary and crazy thing to just pack up and leave everything behind. I live for that kinda of stuff but im unsure about this one. I need die hard skiers to help me out on this one. Peace to all! Oh and if anyone would want to join me there, let me know. im always looking for a roommate/ Ski partner (but you have to be crazy like me). j/k....

Yeah i already lived there once and i would do it again in a heartbeat so dont tempt me. Oh and you prolly couldnt handle my parties. there pretty wild. My saying is ski, sex and rock and roll. Peace and be wild 24/7. If your ever in this area your more then welcome to check out the party life!

I agree with Woodsy on this one. Do it. Spend as much time in the mountains as you possibly can, because some day they might not be so easily accessible. And that sucks.

So, now I live in SF, spread shit around, sex parties...blacked out naked twister and stuff, look for rides to where ever, y'know. still got m'shades. gonna check out Monster on DVD tonight, anyone seen it?

Are you fucking kidding me? You are in eau claire!!! Get the fuck out of there. I grew up in the twin cities and went to school in milwaukee so I made the commute through eau claire more times than I care to remember.

I moved out here after college and it was one of the best things I ever did. The hardest part was packing the car. Finally, I'm in a place where my heart wants to be.

Yeah i know, this area does suck. But what can I do? I really need to finish up school and get my degree. I so want this job but it just came at the wrong time in my life. I dont know. My family says I should go too but it will be hard. But then again I can always go to school out there. I dont even know why im questioning this one. Its my dream to move out to Colorado. My mom just got out of the hospital recently so im trying to stay close to home. Theres not that much time with her left and i would hate to be gone when something happens. Oh well. I guess i love my mom more then skiing. Thanks!

First of all, make sure it's a paid job with the pro patrol. National Ski Patrol (www.nsp.org) is strictly a volunteer organization. Great for the free pass and other benefits, but definitely no money involved.

Just thought I'd throw that out so you know what you're getting into. :)

Well right now my mom is going thru a couple of procedures for cancer. At first they said it was prolly nothing to worry about but then the lumps kept growing and spreading. Three days ago she had an operation. SO now we just have to wait and see the results. Im trying to keep my hopes up. Its hard at times, especially seening her in pain. Man i love my mom so much it hurts me to see her like this. Well take care!

Sorry to hear this. My Mom had a stroke a few years ago and it makes you feel awfully helpless. But you gotta take the Steamboat gig. Your mom wants you to go deep down I'd imagine. Steamboat is awesome, awesome, awesome. Stay home as long as possible but go to the Boat. You won't regret it. I have friends from college who moved there in 93 after we graduated. They are still there...now married with a little girl and they still adore the place.

Well there are two areas where lumps keep reappering. Her breast and then her lungs. The lungs are the most dangerous of both of them.

When you're Mom is ready make the move. Pay attention to the pay situation because first thing I thought when I read National Ski Patrol was 'no pay' as metioned above.
