My friend Ritchey grew up near Telluride and wrote a really good blog-post about it. Her dad was the editor of the Telluride paper. Bump, great read. Iwas supposed to go to bluegrass the year that Cash played, and dedicated a song to Jimmy Drew, but couldn't make it.

I have never been there, but I have read numerous articles on the place and it holds some sort of power over me, I don't know what it is but that place is tops on my list of places I want to go, maybe even live. Good read, thanks for posting it.

15 years ago I used to go to telluride every year at least a couple of times a year. I have been to some beautiful places, but telluride on the fall is absolutely amazing!! Aspens so gold they glow in the dark. Skies that light, bright shade of blue. Cool, crisp pine smell in the air. And the peaks dusted with a deep, fresh coat of white.
I would highly encourage anybody to go some fall. If they still hold the brew fest there, go!! So cool; for like $15 you get a mug and unlimited rights to some of the best micro-brew in the country. Plus they set all this up right in the middle of mainstreet, all the businesses close early and you get one hell-u-va block party.
Man, I gotta get back there this fall.

Yeah, she's a pretty awesome writer. She wrote a story about putting down her dog a few weeks ago that made me leave work early because ikt was so touching. And I hate sensitive shit, I never cried at bambi, and this lady's writing shakes me down sometimes. Thanks for reading it.
She is also a crazy musician, her "band" is called "The Badger King". I used the quotes on band because it's her singing and co-composing electronic sounds that her friend Jona then plays on a laptop. It's intense. Their main act is a rock-opera that they recently won a grant to improve and perform on the road.
I agree with PaSucks about the special power of Telluride. Neat place and everyone I've met from there has been pretty unique. Too bad it'sfilling up with movie stars now, I hope that doesn't ruin it.
