Absolutely...with Booster Straps
I already have boosters and black (Tornado) tongues. That's been a good ticket. The stock liners are wearing down and I am just making sure that the Power Wrap is not overkill (ie if I should choose the Alpine or Universal instead)
That's exactly what I'm planning. Power wraps in spirit 3's with stiff tongues. I might go back to the stock tongues to make touring a little more comfortable, but that'll be after some testing. I have some multi-baked spirit liners and the power wraps and the stiffness/support differences are quite noticeable, however once I bake them down I expect them to soften a little with better support.
That's my plan. Got the liners and everything, just haven't molded them yet. I'll let you know how it works....if we ever get some snow!
Im going to be sticking powerwraps/tornado tongue/booster on the soon to be mine spirit 4's . Speaking of, did you get my check bro?
intuition power wraps, IMHO and as i've mentioned before, are the best liner for people who both really tour and can work a boot hard. while they do make a boot a bit stiffer, if one adds these liners to a boot and finds they were "too stiff", it's probably that the boot was too stiff anyway. in other words, what they do makes a difference but doesn't dramatically change the character of the boot.
question for you: you complained in an earlier thread that your g-rides were terribly inappropriate inbounds. i'm assuming your spirit 3s are stiffer than the g-rides (though i know they are not really "stiff"). do you ski your spirit 3s inbounds now?
and do get the booster strap. definitely helps on AT boots which are a bit lower in the cuff -- still allows for progressive flex.
(then again, i'm a 1-boot guy day-in & day-out.)
hope it works for you.
I'm getting ready to put power wraps in some scarpa matrix. We'll see how it works out, I figure i can always put the stock liners back in for long days if it changes the tourability too much.
Be careful how you mold it. I had a boot fitter cook the liners in one of the ovens they have at a shop and they came out way to tight. I then had them done in another shop heated while still in the boot and they came out just right.
I have powerwraps in a dynafit 4 buckle aero and they are as stiff (forward flex) as my 120 langes. walking in them kind of sucks though.....
