Something that wasn't mentioned in this thread is the savings during the ski season on operations due to the advance-sales only model. This is particularly evident at the Vail resorts in the Tahoe area this year. People are going to show up anyway, so why go out of your way to provide a great product?...

No lines at Sierra yesterday and West Bowl opened. Both main chairs were not allowing single riders due to wind first thing in the morning though. Off-piste was hammered by the wind but there were some nice pockets. I miss the trees.

Targhee was great above about 8,500' today and it was clear all day. There were some select carvy heavy but shallow powder zones that was mostly sticking to the ice layer underneath in spots. Groomers stayed nice all day. The road down to the bottom of Sac was a mixture of dirt and snow peppered...
