It was high moisture content and wind affected. Grabby windslab on summit frontside, got rope drop on A Gully which was skiing much better - deep with quite a few face shots. Most of the rest of WH2 plus Boomerang etc hadn’t cracked by the time I had to leave for work. West Bowl was great. It was... -
If you want to get the free ski shuttles then stay in Banff. And if skiing is priority, then stay at a hotel at the 500/600 block end of Banff Ave. You’ll be a 15 minute walk from downtown, but you’ll be getting on one of the first ski bus stops - they can fill up quickly. Then send more behind,...Leave a comment:

Depends when you were last here, but there’s been lots of changes in the past few years. New restaurants, lots of hotel facelifts. New terrain and new lifts at Lake Louise. Still a fucking awesome place for a ski trip....Leave a comment:

Well yeah, weight and speed are definitely why I prefer the lengths I do....Leave a comment:

I've been happiest at 1-2 cms forward on all of mine. I'm 167cm, 195lbs and tend to like a longer ski for my height (180 in the R9s and R10s, 186-188 in the R11s, 189 in the Spurs). Agreed, if I went shorter I'd probably stick with the line. But being a little more forward on the longer skis seems to...Leave a comment:

Oh weird, I posted a clip of me skiing some deep Rockies pow from my IG on that post but maybe the link got corrupted or redirected somehow?
I only know Adrien from him setting the world speed record on Grand Daddy couloir years ago, along with various other exploits from his SsV race days....Leave a comment:

I have some Anomaly 102s in a 182. I mounted 2cms forward of the line and have skied them in a couple day old 15cm deep pow (Canadian Rockies so it was still fairly low density). They skied it great. Definitely skied through the snow a bit more than floated and smeared on top (as expected given weight...Leave a comment:

Delirium Dive hasn’t cracked yet. They heli bombed it about ten ago and got some big results. They’ve had another 120cms or so since then but it’ll need more bombing and reassessment. Hopefully it sticks and opens soon. The Wild West has opened and has been skiing really well, but overall LL...Leave a comment:

Yeah, it’s insane, just non stop. I have to keep pinching myself. Got West Bowl opening yesterday and the first few laps were like prime interior BC cat skiing. And everything is so caked and supportive that you can ski with more confidence than is typical for the Rockies this early....Leave a comment:

Mntlion is definitely around and boot fitting at Bear St Outfitters (when not skiing pow at Louise). He hasn’t been checking here after all the forum shitshow. Get her to call them to check when he’s in. Or I can message him. Bear St Outfitters are excellent - she’ll get well looked after in there....Leave a comment:
