Those look sweet. ~1cm narrower and ~200g lighter than the Volkl Rise VWerks, sounds like a similar camber profile. Wonder how they will compare on snow?

I skied about 16k vert of pow touring over the last 3 days on some old black bamboo sidewall 192cm Lotus 138s. These were paired with 200g bindings (ATK toes and Plum Race heels) and 2 buckle boots.
Hard to skin icy side hills, no surprise! Easy to break trail and on the ski track day...😀 1Leave a comment:

With the ski laying on its side can you build up some blocks of wood to support the binding heel plastic directly? Then just tap the pin out with a punch and small hammer. Otherwise you can remove the heel off the turret pretty easily to get direct support when tapping it out, and gives you a chance...Leave a comment:

The V-Werks Katana hasn't really changed in a decade and is 112 underfoot. I wouldn't necessarily call it "modern" compared to more progressively mounted skis, but the ski and shape is very versatile if you jive with traditional mounts. Looks like Volkl has also re-released the Mantra V-Werks as the " VÖLKL RISE 99 V-WERKS" now in their touring collection. Sizes 170, 178, 186. Skimoco website comments allude to the fact that it is just a redo on the VW Mantra and not some new VW ski....Leave a comment:
