I agree. I've always been in the "pay attention and drive with some foresight and you can merge/etc with any car. But yeah. With the instant torque and one pedal driving, I do feel like the electric car is particularly easy to merge and keep yourself in the sweetspot of traffic. The car the electric...

I liked the Ioniq 5, but was scared off by the ICCU/9V issue, which was becoming more common knowledge when I was looking. The 5 looks likes a great do it all general around town vehicle.

I'm still enjoying our Mini SE. Really fun to drive and while I plug it in most nights, the short range...

    That's awesome, bobz, amazing work.

Thanks for the advice on the uphill running. I wouldn't have thought of it. Really at the moment, my knees have been doing great. It's more the rest of the body that I have to make sure stays in line as I continue to ramp up a bit. Some friends have a...

  • There's pretty good riding basically from the far Southeast side (Bootleg Canyon) all around to the Northwest corner (Da Burbs, and then in the summer up in the Spring Mountains where there is a little bike park and a few fun shuttlable trails). The picture is from Sidewinder on the way to the top of...

  • That is the Spring Mountains (Mount Charleston), looking from Boulder City SE of town.

I actually don't know if I could see the Mormon Mountains from where I took that photo. Quite possibly, but they're a good distance. I will look next time i do the loop. The Sheep Mountains (north of...

  • That's beautiful, ghosthop, and I'm sure you'll remember the company forever.

We now have snow on the big mountains on the other side of Vegas. The local ski hill opened this weekend at 100% of terrain open.

  • Went for a ride this weekend next door in Henderson (just south of Vegas) rather than Boulder City. They've built up a really nice trail system there. It's more XC focused, but here are some fun trails (Trail Mix and Party Lap being standouts)....

i've been trying to get back into running over the past few months after (my second) meniscus surgery at the beginning of the summer. So far, it's been one of my better attempts at consistent running.

I read that very cushioned shoes are good post-meniscus, so I bought a pair of Nike Invincible...

  • I still use my Launch Pros and like them, but I sometimes they rub/pinch the back of my knee and I can't totally figure out when/why. So I basically limit them to bike park days and if I'm climbing up fire roads where I could put them down around my ankles if they start to bother me....

  • I rarely fall, but I wear elbow/knee pads and a full face every ride just to be safe as - as you say - it's basically a tumble down cheese grater. When I ride the front face, I'll sometimes put on a shirt with back/shoulder protection, but I sometimes decide what I want to do midride, so don't always...
