Jacket with giant pockets that fit my skins, soft water bottle, snack, hats, and buff.
Jacket get's tied soccer dad style around the waist. Same with midlayer if needed.
Larger gloves clip to belt loop.
No buying a pack. No pack on/off... just tying and untying jackets.

CPW is asking for trail decomissions and seasonal trail closures all over the place "to protect elk." To be clear, they are advising this to land managers of lands that CPW does not manage. Fuck CPW. I'm not getting the parks pass on my vehicle reg renewal because of this bullshit.Leave a comment:

Well, the way JB characterizes it, Horner is ornery and has not been cooperative with the community, and so a lot of levers and revenues that the local govs didn't activate presumably on the basis of other considerations from the skico are now in play. So Horner is willing to self-damage to apply pressure...Leave a comment:

I'll read the article in a bit, but I think Telluride and Mountain Village are different animals. Mountain Village actually allows second homeowners to vote in elections.Leave a comment:

I can try to upload my new avatar in edit avatar, but it doesn't work. Tried a scaled one and one that was actually 100x100 pixels. It sat there "working" for a while then:- An unexpected error was returned: 'fwrite(): Argument #1 ($stream) must be of type resource, bool given'

The studs are a minor loss on dry, but not having studs is a major loss in hardpack/ice. So if you want the ulitmate in predictability of traction, which is the definition of safety, studded all the way.
I won't go back to studless after running them for 20 years and I"m not even in...👍 1Leave a comment:

LT3s are awesome. I chose Hakka 10 SUVs. If you don't need E tires and accept a 32" then you don't need LT3 and the 10s are even nicer!
I also will never go back to Blizzak....Leave a comment:

DM-V3 is a refined V2, which was one the very finest studless winter tires except for treadlife, which is supposed to be 25% better with V3.Leave a comment:
