The current state of the ‘general ski/snowboard discussion’ forum is annoying.😂 2👍 1Leave a comment:

You can buy the chemical right now for like $25 a vial, only approved for reasearch purposes. No idea what the treatment amount would be. No human trials yet.Leave a comment:

In actual science news:
A team of American scientists claim they have done something miraculous: they “cured” lab mice suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, which has robbed more than seven million Americans, typically 65 years old and up, of their identity and cognitive ability....👍 1Leave a comment:

Yes. ‘Nobel Peace Prize Winner’ is just a state of mind. That’s a scientific fact.😎 1Leave a comment:

Grocery Outlet had a dedicated bagger for me on Sunday. (It was awful quiet in there though.)...Leave a comment:

Not from skinning, but I used to get blisters on my heels in my alpine boots. I started putting ‘Luekotape P’ tape on my heels before skiing everyday and it solved it.
My boots are much tighter fitting these days than when I started using it, but I still do use it.Leave a comment:

If the Nokian studless are a great deal compared to the other options then that’s a different discussion, but Nokian is not usually budget priced (unlike General).Leave a comment:

But then just buy a studless or an all-weather tire in that case is my point....👎 1Leave a comment:

If you’re getting a studdable tire you should absolutely get studs. Making them studdable compromises performance vs a studless, so if you don’t stud them you’re just choosing an all around inferior tire compared to a studless.Leave a comment:

‘Like M&Ms but better’ is a thing only a Canadian could ever say about Smarties.
I’m Canadian. I ate my share of Halloween Smarties. In my youth it’s possible I would have even defended their honour. But they are not better than M&Ms....Leave a comment:

I have 3 degree on my R87s. Other (wider, more rockered) skis are all 2 degree.
Just try 3 and if you find they are too grippy it’s very easy to go back to 2.Leave a comment:

Too bad, because mechanically they’re supposed to be great. Jason Camissa (now Hagerty, fomerly Road & Track) said the Lucid Air Sapphire is the best handling sedan ever, maybe even best handling of any car period.
Turns out cars are complicated machines that are difficult to pro...Leave a comment:

This is pretty much the reason I detune the full length of my M102s, and more at the tips and tails. They can’t hook up on ice, so I’d rather make them drift in a nice controlled manner rather than chattering.
My HL R87s keep one pair of edges full sharp....Leave a comment:

This is just flat out untrue. It’s a force/geometry problem.
At too low of edge angles the side forces are enough to force the ski to slide out of the trough the edge is forming in the ice. At high edge angles that doesn’t happen as easily because the angle of the ‘ramp’ you are...Leave a comment:
