Mounted a few skis the other day using MottN's 3d printed jig (speaking of self centering jigs...)

Like 10 Mins per ski, more if tapping the holes of course. My hands hurt from driving screws into HL cores.

Agree hertel is a lot easier to work with but also probably doesn't last as long as some others.

I use hot sauce at home (Tahoe) and think it's probably a good wax for the warmish wet snow here. I know it's marketed as all temp but it's a pretty soft wax.

Would also add that if you do have big pant vents and open them you'll get sunburned through the mesh.

My preferred base layers right now are the brynje shirt and usually very light 3/4 length long underwear...

What do people like for a tune on the R110s? Same as the FRs?

I have some slightly older Maestrales that are in excellent shape with unused liners I could give you for shipping $, but better see if they'd fit first. I don't know how they compare with the Quattro in terms of fit. They'd be far less stiff than the Quattro....

Never skied on AK, but FWIW for heavy shitty snow in the Sierra I'm definitely a fan of flat or slight reverse camber skis without much sidecut, but hardly anyone is making them anymore. VW katana as mentioned, BMT108, some heritage labs offerings (none produced this year I think).
