I have a float e2 which I generally like, it's much better than the old float 1.0. It doesn't pull open like the old bags and I like the stash pocket a lot. Flying with it is easy. The shoulder and hip straps always seem to loosen during a tour and require occasional snuggling but that's my main complaint.... -
Damn was hoping the v2 would be more durable. The kilo family is a much worse fit for my foot so I guess I'll have to start looking at alternatives...Leave a comment:

For those of you who missed out, I've got an R110 I think I'm going to sell. Also pretty cheap but not as pristine condition (1.5 mounts, repaired core shot). Message me for details if you're interested....Leave a comment:

So how does the v2 ski compared with the V1?
V1 has been my go to spring ski for the last couple of years and I love it....Leave a comment:

I do have a backup pair of the gen2 that I'll break out if I can't find an old boot to steal a tongue off of, but then I need to get a bunch of punching done on the new ones....Leave a comment:

We also always stay in Canmore and just got back from a 2 week trip out there. Banff was an absolute zoo over the holidays, Canmore seemed dead by comparison. I like the vibe there much better, and as mentioned the drive time to the resorts might actually be shorter when you factor in driving through...Leave a comment:

I think I'm not the only one to fuck up the tongue on a gen1 skorpius, did anyone figure out a way to fix this? Or do any of you have a broken boot you could part out?...Leave a comment:

Another vote for leukotape, I can't tour without it
Also really tight fitting socks (like the dissent compression socks) help too, just a lot less rubbing

I remember an old wildsnow page that showed how a lot of bindings did or did not overlap with the magic H pattern, not sure if it still exists.
Pretty sure that tecton/vipec toes were in the H and the heels were slightly too narrow to fully overlap, but tons of people have mounted whatever...Leave a comment:

Thanks guys, super helpful. Obviously I have some things to learn about tuning reverse camber skis.
I had a little adjustable edge file with me and took the edge to 1.5 deg underfoot and then detuned with a file. Still hooking up a little but much more manageable (and enjoyable) today...Leave a comment:

Presumably that's edge angles? I currently have 2 deg side but with 1.5 base for tip and tail and 1 base under foot. I've been progressively detuning more and more to try to stop them from hooking up but maybe I should just adjust the edge angle underfoot to 1.5....Leave a comment:

Yeah I'm kind of kicking myself for only bringing an R110 to lake Louise, it was great for the first few days but now it hasn't snowed in a bit and it's downright scary on hard pack. It'll just sort of hook up unpredictably when I hit an icy patch and try to pull me into a tight turn. AM100 would have...Leave a comment:

For me it depends on how cold it is. I usually do end of season wax with hot sauce, and then if it's not insanely cold I just scrape brush and go. If I'll be traveling somewhere colder and haven't gotten the skis our yet I'll scrape and put something colder and more durable on....Leave a comment:

Will be a Louise tomorrow (Monday) if anyone would like to meet up for a couple of laps...Leave a comment:
