[QUOTE=Name Redacted;n11633934]Sick of hearing about how dry it is. Snow will come, and maybe, just maybe, we can avoid the PWLs we are so familiar with.

So true, I've been thinking this. Fingers crossed for dry-dry-dry and then a long snow train!...

Helpful, thx. And yes, I'm prioritizing packability and durability over weight. MLD and slingfin stand out. I'll check out the Durston too. Alot of options and nuanced features for a seemingly simple thing. But hell, skis seem pretty simple from a distance!...Leave a comment:

Good points... On wetness, sleep bag in a trash bag in dug out footwell? And yeah, we do tend toward base camps. If bringing "tent pole", then I like the idea of spare ski poles. More to ponder. Either way, I think I want to switch to a bigger mid. I've got the MSR twin sisters which is very...Leave a comment:

Ok bingo, thx! I guess as long as the anchors stay fixed, then re-setting just the poles when back in camp is pretty quick. I'm doing this going forward. Dedicated poles are pretty light, but all weight adds up....Leave a comment:

I really wish manufacturers would just re-name a ski if they significantly re-design it. Reminds me of when the old 4frnt Renegade went from a heavy big mtn charger to a quite light backcountry-oriented ski - and...Leave a comment:

Reading through this since I'm destined for a hip replacement - malformed "ball" end of the femur. A few thoughts to throw into the mix of great info here...
- First, thx all for the experiences and info, and hope all are doing well. Golden, glad you're back to at least "meh"...Leave a comment:

Check in with Arctos Guides (Conor). I think he has some open spots in one of the GAH lodges....Leave a comment:
