They didn't mention any hesitations when I brought the visions in for the mount, but they did when I brought the toggas in for an insert mount a few weeks later, which was after I had picked up the visions but before I discovered the issue.
They basically flat out refused to mount the toggas...

Update on this.
I called the shop (ProSki Seattle on Sand Point Way), explained the problem, and they asked me to bring the skis back in. When I brought the skis in, I described the problem again and the person I talked to groaned and said "that's why I hate mounting w/ inserts"....Leave a comment:

The SGN Togga is worth a look. I picked up a pair on sale last year, before the tariffs. Haven't skied them yet. Marshal's UT 122 is probably a better option financially at this point... but I'm thinking these are similar and definitely reminiscent of the renegade shape/profile. I have one, I inherited it from my machinist uncle. It's not really machinist-grade, but it's pretty stout. I don't use it for alpine mounts, but for Cast toe mounts it's really nice. That's not going to work well on a ski with a lot of sidecut. If you make one mark, then rotate the center finder and make a second mark... They won't be in the same place....Leave a comment:
