The fact that you did this confirms a lot of my theories about you.
And nice work....

Open snow has an article saying the Colorado snotel snowpack is the lowest they've seen since 1987 when they started tracking the modern snotel numbers.
My motivation to give up all or parts of days to rip groomers is also trending downward pretty hard....Leave a comment:

Well that's good, cause after she ordered the buckle version the store said they were out of stock and offered to replace it with BOA. Which she did. So we shall see....Leave a comment:

FS: Elan M1111 Quadone split tails
Anybody want a pair of Elan M1111 Quadones? I had them all boxed up to send to Alive, but the forum explosion made us lose touch (Alive, holler if you're alive (heh) and you still want these). Since they're boxed I don't have photos. They come mounted with demo bindings.
They are the... -

Ski Edger - multi angle - thoughts?
I have a FK SKS 3100 multi angle edger. Looks like this: https://fktools-us.com/product/multi-tuner/
I like it. Good enough for home use and portable enough for taking to the mountain and trips. But it takes 70mm stones and files. Easy enough to find 70mm stones, but... -

Probably worth more explanation. A pair of BOA hawx are about a pound heavier than the buckle version. That was one factor. She wants to be able to control tension on the toe area and instep area separately, which buckles allow for. That was another reason. Then the $100 was gravy....Leave a comment:

This is yet another reason shorter stems make sense. You get the steering control of the wider bars while still being able to throw the bike around 'cause the reach isn't ridiculous.
My garage is just stupidly full of old bike parts (even after a purge) and over the holidays my son built...👍 1Leave a comment:

My wife just ran into this with hawx xtd ultras and opted to go buckles and save $100. We shall see if she regrets it....Leave a comment:

I'm in this boat also. Once upon a time I used the full swix temperature range, and I've used some other brands too, but then I decided it just wasn't worth it - a universal was 95% of the benefit with 20% of the work. So now I'm just sort've entertaining my wax nerd side with semi-interested musings...Leave a comment:

I'm running 780s on my size large switchblade. I'm 6' tall. Seems fine. I've never noticed a time when I want them wider.
Sometimes I'll ride with my hands on the bars right next to the stem on non tech climbs. Nice change of position on long rides, but by doing that you'll see just...Leave a comment:

My kid got cleared today by Dr Cooley. Huge news. Almost exactly 6 months after getting cut. He has to take it easy for the first month and then can keep ramping up. No cliffs, spins or tricks this year. Full rage next year.
As good as we could have asked for.
Thanks...🥰 1Leave a comment:

Stoked on this DTM, especially as a dad who is watching his kid recovering from popping his ACL at the end of last season. Great news for you guys.
Related - assuming the doc oks it this week, PTs think the kid (flatlandingsaregoodfortheknees - ironic handle, eh?) might be back at Alta...Last edited by EWG; 01-05-2026, 03:25 PM.Leave a comment:

Oops - I answered the question from a year ago. If you just want to mount your computer for reading your rear wheel, no problem, just hook the magnet up to a rear spoke and the reader to your seat stay. Might need some rubber to wrap on your seatstay to make the clamp fit since that will be thinner...Leave a comment:

As SJG said, the Kickr Core is your answer. Can find them for a few hundred used, they are bombproof, work great, and fold up to nothing when not in use. Grant, taking off the rear wheel of a mountain bike is sort've a pain, but the ride experience is terrific. There are free and paid apps you can...Leave a comment:
