The CX 50 hybrid drivetrain is exactly the same as the RAV4 hybrid - - Mazda uses Toyota's engine, transmission, etc. I'm surprised it drove much different, but I guess there's different suspension tuning to be done. I've never driven the CX 50.

I have some 190 Salomon Czar with some older Salomon binding (can't remember what one, but it'll be a non MNC type), if that's of interest. I'm in Reno....Leave a comment:

That's not a RAV4, but Mrs C has one, and the nearly 5 years she's had it were a factor in selecting that Crown. It's had zero issues and has totally met all expectations.
We looked at CRV when shopping for the RAV4. Though all the car magazine reviews seemed to like them more than the...Leave a comment:

A Honda Ridgeline, which I really wanted to be a better vehicle than it was. It was quiet, great AWD, smooth riding, comfortable seats.
The list of downsides was growing ever longer though, and the worst was an engine start up rattle that the dealer couldn't or wouldn't fix (they told me...Leave a comment:

Huh. I kinda want heavy concrete for the first real storm of the season.
It's been slushy paste at my house today, around 5900' on the Reno side of Mt Rose highway, temp around 35 all day. I shoveled it off just so it doesn't freeze into an inch of ice overnight....Leave a comment:

Mt Rose opening tomorrow, Lakeview chair only, Kit Carson blue run and a green run open.
Guess they're getting enough glop from the recent storms - - should make for some good solid base....Leave a comment:

Waxman, is there something about the demo track version that you hated? Or even the regular non demo one too? I've used the non demo one for a long time, no complaints about them, but have never skied the demo version....Leave a comment:
