5'7" here and I seem to like 780. 800 was definitely too wide so I could prolly go shorter but haven't experimented much. On a med bike with 35mm stem. -
Can't even report a post. Yet my post gets blocked as spam. This place is a fucking joke. Still worse functionality, fewer features, worse appearance than the 2006 forum. They clearly DGAF....👎 1Leave a comment:

I think what he means is the state and federal level investigation is not conducted by industry professionals?
AFAIK the various OSHA orgs don't employ avalanche/snow safety/patrol professionals in their investigations....Leave a comment:

YEah Wilbur Chute and I think the other one came out of Lone Pine. Gnarly. We skied Fluffy Bunny (AKA The Death Road) on our way back to the center this afternoon and the debris below Lone Pine was well over my head. Those trees are gonna be a bitch to clean up.
Second day of the season...👍 1Leave a comment:

Yeah Wolf Creek is a special place for sure. Even what it lacks in vertical, it makes up for in horizontal haha!
I think mostly that it's just about the skiing, with decent food for a decent price in the lodge. No real estate, no fancy shops, no alpine slides or other summer activities....☕ 1Leave a comment:

Can't quote today but Californiagrown, nationalizing skiing like you say sounds great to me but absolutely not under this administration. They'd just install crony despots and bleed it dry for their own coffers. It is a national economic resource on public land and a healthy dose of thoughtful regulation...Leave a comment:

In the Same zone, less than 100 yards away from what I've read. RIP Claire Murphy (terrible coincidence but no relation)
Over 6 feet of snow in 36 hours with raging winds this storm. Very difficult situation to deal with safely. Also had an immersion death the next day when they opened...Last edited by beaterdit; 12-31-2025, 03:05 AM.Leave a comment:

He ratted out his neighbor, my friend, former Patroller and Paramedic Firefighter on disability, for renting out an apartment above his garage he wasn't zoned for. Turned into...Leave a comment:

What they said re: jobs. SLC will be your best bet to find housing over any of the other spots mentioned. It ain't cheap but still more affordable than those too. Ski area jobs may be sparse this season with the snow situation but can prolly find other work around the city.
Also, pretty...Leave a comment:

Yeah the Gondi's owned and operated by Mountain Village (where the base area of the ski area is) with support from the town and limited support from the ski area $250K annually. It's pretty vital, and free transportation between the town and the ski area/Mountain Village. It needs replacement and Chuck...Leave a comment:

Day 1 of closure and back of the napkin math says Telski has already lost 10X as much as paying the Patrollers would have cost over the next three years. To make no mention of much other local entities have lost. Great job asshole. Billionaire owner Chuck could easily afford to pay, and pay all the...👍 1Leave a comment:
