I e-knew Bob back in the Usenet days, then had a couple chances to ski with him - first time was Silverton's inaugural season and the last was at Taos Feb 2020 - just before the world came to a standstill.

He was a great man and I was fortunate to know and ski with him...

Yes - but with leisure travel, you're generally not going somewhere that sucks.

Although I guess if you live in Texas wherever you travel for work, at the least, isn't going to suck MORE.

I think we need to differentiate between work and leisure travel. Because work travel sucks balls while most leisure travel is waaaaay less sucky.

Though I will concede that the air portion sucks for both.
