I showed up in the afternoon at Palisades yesterday and Alpine today and crowds had become manageable at that point (never waited more than 5min). Snow was till soft and chalky in most places above ~7k.

On days like this you realize it's so easy to take it all for granted and forget that these guys are literally risking their lives (for shit pay, no less) so that so that a bunch of tourists (I mean that in the broadest sense, we're all just there for leisure) can safely recreate....

I ended up shoveling away the top 1/2 feet of where I kept high centering for about 400 ft until it hit a bigger street that was in better shape. Pretty sure the plow did our local street less than 30 min after,...

Dang, was hoping for a west shore jaunt today but can’t get through this heavy mess on the local road without immediately getting high centered (low clearance car). If anyone with a better car wants to get out there this afternoon hit me up. I’m in Tahoe city near grantlibaken and 89!.

Seriously wet base building snow all day in Tahoe city. It consolidated down to about 8-10 inches but shoveling it felt more like triple that. More of this plus colder temps coming is just what we needed, let’s go!...
