I hate it when Alpinezone is right. I guess keep an eye out for those hot New Jersey babes.

The question just comes down to: Should a single back slap and/or hip check completely remove your chances of winning?
I think the answer should be no (which is why I think Rafford should have won). That doesn't mean that reckless, sloppy runs should be rewarded. But it does mean that...Leave a comment:

Strong work evdog. Those washouts a couple posts up look like they'll be a lot of work.

A one sided truing stand seems like an unnecessary annoyance. There's plenty of cheap knock off versions of a traditional park stand available on the interwebs. For basic home-use truing and wheel building, you don't need anything particularly fancy.

This.
I've done assorted cheaper options. They're fine when it's sunny, but for any kind of challenging light where the lens actually matters, the smiths are noticeably better. Squads / Squad XL's are the cheapest way to get into that quality.

I dunno. If you end his run before the last backslap air, I'd say he was the winner by a fair margin. And his last air was by far the biggest of the comp. And Ben Richards (the winner) had a minor bobble on the landing of his lincoln loop. Pretty much everyone had at least some sort of control...Leave a comment:

Good to be back. As always, fun comp to watch.
Not that it's anything new, but this comp felt like a glaring example of rewarding ho-hum tricks over interesting lines. That said, the top 3 are clearly the top 3. I would've put Rafford on the top step though. Also cool to see Rafford...Leave a comment:

You have a little room before you max out, but if you lengthened your mount a few mm, you'll be closer to the middle of the adjustment range....👍 1Leave a comment:

The method that has served me well with both 1.0's and 2.0's is setting the forward pressure too tight, and then backing out just until the binding will sit flat on top of the heel welt.
If the forward pressure is too high (i.e. heel screwed too far forward), the dildo won't sit vertical...Leave a comment:

I think it's a fine line between having a narrower bar that allows you to move around more, and a wider bar that allows you more leverage and lets you manhandle the bike around more easily. Most of the good riders that I see running narrower bars are either xc-ish and not concerned with really stuffing...😂 1Leave a comment:

Yup. And really, who knows what healthcare costs in the U.S. are gonna look like 10 or 20 years from now. It's pretty hard to do any kind of coherent financial planning when there's such a massive variable in the mix. Which mostly leads me to the conclusion that I need a big buffer.

I appreciate that you posted the actual number, mostly because it confirms my thinking as well. I'm a bit younger than you, but your number roughly lines up with where I'd like to be.
It's not that I need that much money to burn every month. It's more that healthcare costs are a huge...👍 1Leave a comment:

Keep all of the spokes, both old and new. Use them for all the things that random spokes are useful for, including but not limited to:
-sharpen them into pokey tools for poking at things that need poking.
-use them for jamming glue into small holes, such as when mounting skis.
-bend...😂 2Leave a comment:

I have similar issues (skinny heels, blisters in that spot). Add some foam pads to the liner in that area. I usually end up with foam pads on both sides of my heel to really lock it in there tight. It skis better, and keeps it from rubbing while hiking. It takes a little experimentation to find...Leave a comment:

5'9" with long-ish arms. I run 780's on everything. I could probably go down to 770 and still be happy, but that'd involve cutting all of my bars which is kind of a pain in the ass. Bar height varies from bike to bike, but is usually pretty low....Leave a comment:
